Two days ago, The Vampire Diaires star Ian Somerhalder made a Twitvid revealing that the more honorable original, Elijah~Daniel Gillies, will be returning in early spring. The short on-set video titled, “‘The Vampire Diaries’ boys”, featured Ian’s chair, plus those belonging to co-stars Joseph Morgan, Matt Davis, Paul Wesley and lastly Daniel Gillies. I guess we need to restart our ‘Elijah for Mayor’ campaign again…Whatcha think?!?!
I also have some fabulous casting news to spoil on the Gilbert front. A new character named Samantha Gilbert will be appearing in Mystic Falls soon. The casting has just begun, but Samantha is said to be a smart, beautiful brunette around 25. She’ll be sweet as they come, with a devilish side to her and will first appear in episode 16.
Stephen Martines who played bad boy vamp “fredrick” is coming back to mystic falls.. Stephen just posted the following on his twitter page
Thank you @julieplec @kevwilliamson for having me back!!
To all the new #TVDFamily #TVD #TVDs3 followers, thank you! Super stoked to see what “Frederick” is gonna be stirring up this time around!
It’s official… “Frederick” returns to #TVD #TVDFamily #TVDs3 !!! Stoked!!
if you’re a fan of Steven R McQueen, go check out his official twitter page @McQueeninchains His fellow cast members have already started to welcome him over there, you should go over and say hello too..
The Vampire Diaries’ next full moon promises to be a big one, and TVLine has learned that Michaela McManus’ Jules won’t be missing out on all the mayhem.
Sources close to VD confirm to TVLine exclusively that Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) werewolf pal will resurface in Mystic Falls at some point before the end of the season. No word on how long she’ll stick around this time, but we’re told Jules’ reappearance will coincide with the town’s next full moon.
Last we saw Jules, she was leaving Mystic Falls with Tyler under the guise of helping him learning the ins and outs of his wolfy powers. And since Trevino confirmed at last weekend’s C2E2 event in Chicago that he was finally back on the show’s Atlanta set after a lengthy hiatus — and shooting night scenes, to boot! — it’s safe to assume the two will make their way home together.

Hi Everyone
NO this isn’t a hoax and NO you haven’t landed in a parallel universe – it’s finally OFFICIAL, after dancing around the twitterverse for nearly 2 seasons Paul Wesley, or should I say @paulwesley, has finally succumed and joined the world of Twitter. Paul is the newest Vampire Diaries cast member to join the twitterverse and leaves Steven R McQueen as the only remaining cast member who hasn’t been lured into the social networking world of Twitter (poor Steve, wonder if he’s feeling the pressure).
So those of you who have been on Twitter recently would have noticed Paul’s first few tweets coming through:
“@paulwesley - hmmm…. i finally have succumbed to the lure of twitter… hello everyone
”
“@paulwesley – A truly sincere thank you to all of you for the warm welcome… ”
“@paulwesley – last night mr @ErnestoRiley gave me a tutorial on the twitter world… that should serve as a precedent for my behavior from here on out.”
“@paulwesley – a moment to say thank you to all of the TVD fans… your support means a lot and does indeed go a long way…
He’s mentioned that he’s been receiving some intensive training from fellow cast member Matt Davis (aka @ErnestoRiley) which could make things interesting and of course his fellow cast members have been sending some amusing messages to welcome him to Twitter:
“Paul Wesley has added an “@” to his name? HUH??? what has this world come to? I never thought I would see the day.”
“Finally everyone will stop asking me to convince him to join twitter. Because he did … @paulwesley is REAL. And No I had absolutely nothin to do w/ it… It’s like he woke up one day+a light bulb suddenly turn on + he thought “I have an itch I want to scratch; I want to tweet.”
“WTF? Stefan is on Twitter! On set shooting with my brother Paul Wesley (Aka) Stefan Salvatore-welcome to the twitterverse brother”
” Everyone welcome @paulwesley to twitter! And send satan a sweater and watch for pigs flying in the sky cause I never thought I’d see the day!”
“In what I’m sure will come as no shock, Melinda has guessed it first. No Twitter Paul is No Twitter Paul No More!!!!”
“Everyone please give a big welcome to the one, the only, @paulwesley.”
So a big “welcome to the Twitterverse” to Paul and we all look forward to reading and sharing tweets with him, I’m sure I’d be accurate in saying that he has made the day of every Paul Wesley/TVD fan on the planet.
I would also like to take this opportunity to send a special thank you to Julie, Kevin and all TVD cast members for taking the time to share their experiences, causes/passions, news and just general day to day chit chat via the Twitterverse with the TVD Fandom. We all appreciate the time and effort you put in notwithstanding your busy filming and publicity schedules – you make us feel appreciated as your fans and we love you for it!
For those of you who haven’t sent Paul a “welcome to twitter” message be sure you do, let him feel the “TVD Twitter Fandom Love”!
Well that’s all from me for now. Hope everyone who is at EyeCon is having a blast and thank you for sharing your experiences with us via the the social networks so we don’t feel left out and I, like all TVD fans, am hanging out waiting impatiently for the 7th of April when The Vampire Diaries will grace our screens again.
Cheers!
Tracey
You officially know you’ve “made it” when you receive a Christmas card from a late-night comedian. This happened with Ian Somerhalder of “The Vampire Diaries,” who announced Wednesday on his Twitter account that he received some holiday love from none other than Jay Leno.
In full, here is what the actor had to say about the surprising arrival:
“Just found a x-mas card form Jay Leno… Jay Leno sent me a fu@#$%^ xmas card?! 2010, despite a few natural/human disasters was amazing 4me
“@jayleno Thanks Jay, my life is complete-just got your xmas card. Seriously. You rock man”

We are now at that time of year when many of television’s biggest stars wrap up work on their shows, and ultimately head back home for a rare moment of rest and relaxation before the craziness starts back up again.
If you want a prime example of this, all you have to do is look at “The Vampire Diaries” star Kat Graham — who posted the following (rather hilarious) message on her Twitter account over the weekend:
“flying high with @M_Trevino and Paul Wesley… you’ve got a witch, a vampire and a werewolf on the flight… nobody panic.”

During this time of the year, it is always important to try and remember that in the midst of all the craziness, sometimes it is important to sit back, relax, and be grateful.for everything you have. Of course, this isn’t always easy when you have a few dozen Christmas gifts to pick up and only a limited amount of time to do so.In order to help keep up in the spirit of the holidays, we have this friendly reminder from “The Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder on the matter. Here’s what he had to post recently on his Twitter page:
“up and at them- just a few more days till relaxation people.Let’s not get caught up the the commercial,consumer-based awesomeness of the holidays but the calming, introspective and family element of it.Breaks my heart to see parents scrounging&going into debt!Kids-appreciate your time with family!!! I just heard a small girl in the elevator yelling at her mom about her x-mas list… WTF.Let’s be happy to be alive”
