In it, a TVD viewer named Danielle describes her 3-year-old cousin’s heartbreaking struggle with cerebral palsy and how nothing but Nina’s voice seems to soothe his painful fits. To help out her young cousin (named Shane), this fan recorded movie/TV clips of Nina talking and placed them on a CD to play for him during his agonizing episodes. And instead of brushing the letter aside, Nina took action and did the sweetest thing EVER for the toddler…she bought him a teddy bear with a recording of her voice:

‘THE VAMPIRE DIARIES’: STEFAN CHANNELS… JACK BAUER AND CHUCK NORRIS?
The year 2011 hasn’t been the easiest for Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Co., on The Vampire Diaries, and, as Julie Plec told Mandi Bierly, the first new episode of the season doesn’t do much to indicate changing winds in 2012. “One of the mysteries of Stefan is he’s got a lot of pain, and he’s got a lot of rage, and a lot of grief, and a lot of guilt. When his humanity was turned off, he didn’t have to deal with that stuff,” she says. “But as it finds its way back through, there’s gonna be a lot flooding back in.”…..

The Vampire Diaries returns in only a few days – on Thursday, January 5 – and thanks to The CW, we’ve gotten an advance look at the mid-season return episode.
Seeing an early cut without finished music – even in the background! – is a bit strange, but the return episode is a solid installment worth seeing. Especially if you’re already a fan of TVD, please don’t forget to tune in at 8PM on January 5!
Here are ten teases we can reveal about the episode. They’re not detailed spoilers, but they are spoilery so you have been warned.
1. Bonnie! The first person we see in the episode is Kat Graham as Bonnie. She was absent for a good portion of the first half of the season so it’s nice to see her again. It’s also nice to see her back in her spot as one of Elena’s closest friends and confidantes. Unfortunately, after the first few minutes she’s not in the episode all that much, but it’s a good start.

When we left Mystic Falls last week, Stefan and Elena shared an emotionally-charged (not to mention one-sided!) phone call that, as Nina Dobrev tells EW, gave Elena just the boost she’d need to continue looking for Stefan (Paul Wesley) in tonight’s episode. “If anything, this phone call was a sign that — despite everyone in her life trying to tell her to back off — she has to keep fighting and fight what she cares about and fight for her love. She’s a very determined young woman,” says Dobrev.

@Katemadeleine: Caroline and Tyler are the best characters on TVD. I neeeeeeeed to know what that one second clip in the promo was about?
Let’s just say a green little monster whose name rhymes with Melousy becomes Caroline’s (Candice Accola) friend when she sees Tyler (Michael Trevino) dancing with another girl at Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) party……..
Adrian in Philadelphia, Pa: Did you see this tweet from Kevin Williamson? It says Stefan, or Paul Wesley, is “out of control” on Vampire Dairies. You have to know something about that…now spill!
We might know something. But guess who knows more? Paul. “We’re going to open up [season three] with Stefan in the middle of almost losing it,” he tell us……
Jody in Crown Point, Ind.: Anything TVD or about my favorite baddie, Klaus!
Joseph Morgan told us that Klaus and Stefan are just having a splendid time together. “[They're] out having fun, painting the town red,” he says. “Going dancing. Shopping. Going to garden centers. Picking out curtains. Trying out couches. Just trying to get to know each other.”……..

Not counting TV’s crime procedurals, it’s hard to think of a show that kills characters as frequently as The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries.” Death is a constant part of life in Mystic Falls, a town full of vampires, werewolves and witches. It’s woven into the very fabric the show. Many of the main characters are undead themselves and even the human heroine begins the series struggling with the death of her parents.
“In a show where you have people dealing with mortality and immortality and humanity, death is always going to be hanging over everyone’s heads,” executive producer Julie Plec tells Show Tracker.

That constant darkcloud over Mystic Falls means no one is safe forever, not even the show’s main trio of Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). “I think that there are people who are safe for quite a long time,” Plec says. “But the rule always applies. Anything can happen at any time, and not everybody’s going to like it, and not everyone’s going to be happy about it.” While Elena, Stefan and Damon are probably not going anywhere soon, it does seem likely there will be more casualties when the series returns April 7. “I think we’ve got about 20 characters working at this point. Yes, there will be a percentage of them that will not make it to season three.”

Katerina Graham from The Vampire Diaries dished on whether her character Bonnie will die for Elena (Nina Dobrev) when the time comes to protect her friend’s life.
On the last episode before the hiatus, things seemed to end well for Bonnie as she got her witch powers back from Jonas before he died.
However, that was not the only thing Jonas left her with, as Bonnie now possesses the knowledge on how to kill Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and save Elena.
So, this has inevitably raised the question on whether Bonnie will have to offer the ultimate sacrifice to save her best friend Elena when evil Original vampire Klaus comes to town.
“Bonnie Bennett hasn’t really had much of a family growing up, that’s already been established.” Katerina told MTV. “So the relationship she has with Elena, she’s constantly putting herself on the line.”

Nina Dobrev and Candice Accola of The Vampire Diaries give new hints about the show on a new promotional video and photo shoot with TV Guide.
Nina and Candice talk about their characters, Elena and Caroline respectively, and give some hints to this season’s key plot points.
“The news this season is why Elena is so important,” Candice explained, “Her past is a love triangle between Stefan (Paul Wesley), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and the history with Katherine.”
Then, Nina spoke about the challenges of playing two characters, Elena and Katherine, and said how she hardly sleeps lately, but she loves doing the work.
Candice also said that as time goes, another big challenge will be for the actors to not look older.
